CitySync 2007
Our church was involved in a major event in the City of Hillsboro this year. I was in charge of all the staff scheduling and Darin was the photographer for the event. It was a great way for us as a church to reach out to our community. We were a sponsor of the event and also had a booth at the event where we offered 100 free bike helmets, free kids games and prizes, free stoller use, raffle prizes and a meet the need giveaway where people could nominate a friend in need to received a 3month tri-met pass, $250 gift card to Fred Meyer and money to attend PCC classes. We also had a great mission team come from Texas to help us and they brought their skate team, which was a big hit with the youth! We were amazed at how God used this event to reach so many people. It was a lot of work, but well worth it.
1st Track Meet 7-19-07
Westview Highschool was hosting a free track meet sponsored by Tualatin Hills Park and Rec Dist. We decided to give the boys a taste of what the meets are like. Martin ran 50 meter dash, and the running long jump. He received participation ribbons for both events. Luke did the standing long jump and won first place for distance in his age group. It was really crowded and pretty unorganized, but for free it was a fun experience.
OCEAN PARK WITH FAMILY- July 2007
We had a nice time at my Mom and Tom's home in Ocean Park, Washington. My brother and his family drove from Spokane for the weekend. We played soccer, rode bikes, and played at the beach. We also celebrated my nephew Spencer's birthday. It was nice to spend time with family! I didn't bring Marin and Luke's bikes so they borrowed their girl cousin's bikes. Martin was totally freaked out that I took a photo of him on a pink girl bike, but as you can see Luke didn't seem to mind. He was just glad he had a bike to ride...thanks Sophia and Madeline for sharing your bikes. Ths photo of the cousins sitting on the log is one of my favorites!
