Awana Award Ceremony

Both Martin and Luke worked very hard this year in Awanas. They both absolutely love the program. Here are the awards they received this year. Luke completed the second book in Sparks so he received a big red ribbon, and Martin has completed all three books in Sparks and received a plaque of recognition. Luke will be in his 3rd year of Sparks next year and Martin will move up to the TNT program.

So we had a bit of a bee situation. I was surprised that this swarm was on such a low branch. Long story short, we ended up having Stan "the bee man" come and take the bees for free. Apparently there is a honey bee shortage and he collects bees and then sells them for good money. Bees gone, everybody happy!

We had a hail storm a couple of weeks ago. It came out of no where. Really weird for this time of year.

My Brother and Family

Here are a couple shots of the cousins together. They didn't want to cooperate so we said let us take a serious one and then we will take a goofy one....and goofy it was!

My Grandpa Talerico passed away April 11, 2007. We had services for him up at Willamette Cemetery with full military honors, then a service at the funeral home in Molalla. The assisted living home where my Grandpa lived wanted to have a service for him as well. Here are a couple of the photos from that service. It was fun to hear the stories about him from the staff that took care of him the years that he lived there. His sweet smile and lovable personality will be missed.

Easter dinner 2007

Easter dinner at the Pfeiffer home. It was nice to have family over for a relaxing time of food and fun. It was nice to have Grandma Haley joining us for the first time this year.

As you can see coffee was a necessary part of coloring eggs this year. That is Luke's very own coffee cup! Martin took this picture of me so you could see I participated too.

So Luke got some dye on his fingers, which is not unusual (that is why they are not wearing any shirts or pants in the other picture) and Darin decides to go ahead and have some fun with the dye. The boys thought this was SO funny. Making memories is what it is all about! Darin is a fun and crazy dad.

The boys were so excited for this event. Darin and the boys worked really hard on the cars this year and had a great time. They already have ideas for how to make the cars go faster for next year.

SPRING BREAK AT GRANDMA LULU'S BEACH HOUSE

We always take this picture when we go and visit Grandma's house in Washington so we can see how the boys grow over the years. It was a fun trip. On Wednesday we had the best weather day. It was absolutely beautiful. The sun was out and we were actually getting a little hot toward the end of our 2 1/2 hours of play time. The boys made sand structures, we made drawings in the sand, and played in the water. Very fun and relaxing. It was great that Washington's spring break was the following week so we didn't have to fight crowds the entire trip.

This is the trip that has to happen when we go visit Grandma Lulu at the beach. The arcade is soooo much fun. Grandma gave each boy money to blow and as you can see they did very well. Martin had just hit a jackpot on this game and got 250 tickets!!!!

My Mom bought these glasses at a sale. They were from the 1950's. The glasses were in the original wooden shipping box with the old postage stamps. Very cool. I thought the look on Martin's face is just priceless! The boys really got a kick out of these.

We started this puzzle on Monday night. I stayed up until 12:30 a.m. working on this thing. What is on the table is how far I got. Martin and I started at 7 a.m. on Tuesday morning and then Grandma Lu, Great Grandma and Luke joined in and we spent the entire day on this thing. We declared a pajama and puzzle day!!! So fun to not have to go anywhere and do a ton of things.
