My gut instinct tells me that I will not be "exceeding standards" in safety on my next evaluation(like I did on last years eval.). This was an experiement on how human skin reacts to 190 degree water.
April has the privilege of changing my wound dressing on a daily basis. The look on her face when she does it suggests she will not be going into the medical field anytime soon.
I truly believe God has intervened with pain management. Other than pain meds in the ER shortly after this happened I haven't needed anything since. I wish I could say I am just being a man about it, but the reality is that the pain just isn't there. *Note the raw skin under the yellow medicated gauze. Doctors advise letting the new skin push off the gauze.
Martin's 8th birthday party with his friends. They had a great time. Unlimited games for 1hr 15 minutes, then cake, ice cream and pop, and then tokens to the video arcade!!!
Martin wanted a bowling party this year for his 8th birthday! I think he was wondering if it was his turn in this photo. Unfortunately, we don't have very many photos that turned out due to the wonderful delay on our digital camera. Most of it was captured on video :)
The boys are hard at work raking leaves to raise money for church. The class is going to purchase items for families that are in need during the holidays. With all the kids combined work they have raised $200!!!
The boys are getting a bit tired. There sure are TONS of leaves in our yard.
They had to make room for the rest of the leaves.
One of the favorites....could it be because of the guns!!?!
We went to OMSI and they have the entire Star Wars exibit through December. It is VERY well done. The kids had a blast!

I LOVE this picture!!!! I can't remember ever seeing a double rainbow with such vivid colors before. You can't tell in the photo, but you could see the arches on the other side too! It was a crazy day of weather and this was the treat we got in the late afternoon. God is amazing!!!!!!
So the "old bird" turns 58 years old on Halloween night!! My Mom had these turkey decorations to put in her pumpkin, but we couldn't resist decorating his cake with it first. We all got a good laugh out of it!!
Halloween night we went over to Grandpa Tom's house to surprise him with dinner and dessert for his birthday!!! The boys wanted to dress up for Grandpa.
Darin has a harvest party at the hospital every year. This year they had the "Mad Science" people come in and do a very educational program for kids. They then moved into another room for more experiements and hands on fun. They had popcorn and water and were given a treat bag with a juice pack and fruit snacks to take home. I think all the parents were very happy with the program and the lack of major sugar....I know we were.
Here is the Mad Scientist in action! Dry Ice is such a wonderful thing. It definately kept the kids attention.
Here are the boys making their cup of slime to take home with them. Boys mixing chemicals and making slime...what fun!!!
We had a field trip to the pumpkin patch with our homeschool group this year. It was such a beautiful sunshiny day!!! There were animals to see, a lesson on how the wheat stalks were processed to make bread, a boat ride, a train ride, and of course the hunt for the perfect pumpkin.
We just left the main barn area for our boat ride over to the pumpkin patch.
This dragon was towards the end of the boat ride...as you can see Martin is not scared in the least.
They had this shark jump out of the water as the boat went by. The boys thought it was totally COOL!!!!
We got to take a train ride back to the barn. The boys are very pleased with their pumpkins :-)
The boys decided to use these stick on rubber pieces to decorate their pumpkins this year. Here is Luke with his designed pumpkin. They definately last longer this way compared to carving them and A LOT LESS work !!
